Fronteras de reflexión

Senderos es una travesía a través de la unión de una dialéctica activa y contemplativa, personificada en la aparentemente sencilla acción de caminar.

Aristides, intencionalmente, saca de contexto las locaciones del inicio y el final, haciendo énfasis en el acto mismo de caminar.

El destino no es lo importante, sino el estar en movimiento. El bullicio del ambiente, el crepitar del viento, el crujido de las hojas, el murmullo de la corriente, se mezclan en una alquimia natural de imágenes y sonidos. Estableciendo paralelos entre la “sinfonía” de la naturaleza y las composiciones de la iluminación, el musicalmente talentoso Aristides medita sobre la macroestructura del ambiente auditivo, extrayendo los cimientos de los sonidos naturales y entrelazando las armonías de la música occidental, para ofrecer una experiencia auditiva que estimula lo más profundo de las emociones. Es esta reacción visceral, no sentimental, la que hace de Senderos una obra cautivadora.

Reflective Borders

Senderos is a voyage through the union of the active and contemplative dialectic, embodied in the deceivingly simple action of a walk. Aristides intentionally de-contextualizes the locations of the start and terminus, turning the focus on the act of walking itself. Destination is of no concern, but rather the fact that one is in motion. The ambient noises; crackles of wind, rustle of the leaves, the babble of the stream, are mixed into a natural alchemy of images and sound. Drawing parallels between the ‘symphony’ of nature and the compositions of the enlightenment, the musically talented Aristides meditates on the macro structuring of the auditory environment: excavating the foundations of natural sounds and interweaving the harmonies of western music to provide an audio experience that stimulates the roots of emotions. It is this visceral, as opposed to sentimental, reaction that is so captivating in Senderos.
